Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Aviva health insurance saving if your renewal date is coming up soon

    Mods I'm putting this here as I think it's more of a consumer issue than an insurance issue exactly. Hope that's ok.

    Aviva health insurance intend to increase premiums by 14% from March first this year. I rang them today about an unrelated issue and happened to ask about the increase. It will mean €400 a year extra to us, more to others. I asked if there was anyway around paying it and to my surprise the girl I spoke to told me there was! I can cancel my policy now and buy the same one immediately at the lower rate that exists until March 1st. There will be no cancelation fee, no extra waiting times, no problems at all. My renewal date is March 31st so it's particularly useful to me and it will mean €400 a year extra to me next year.

    Just thought I'd share in case it might help someone else out too.:)

    Yes you can do that but even after the 14% price increase on March 1st, Aviva will still be cheaper than VHI's Plan B Option by over 30%. Some children's policies can be 50% cheaper also. And you can have different members of the family on different plans too. Talk to a broker.....

    Not all brokers specialise in health insurance though.
