Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

El Spearo has already said it better than I ever could but if the team can't put in performance for Leiva today they may never be able to.

Really looking forward to this now, I won't say I don't care if we win or lose, because I want to win and beating the plastics would make it even sweeter, but losing will be a lot easier to take if every player involved today shows heart and commitment, and leaves everything on the pitch.

If anyone is going into the match thread expect the WUMS and trolls to be out in force since there are no other games on so....

I hope Steve McManaman never becomes manager, his team and formation are terrible.:pac:

Carra's clearly in because they're mates. Hopefully Kenny isn't as soft a touch today.

Gerrard as a deep lying CM is just as concerning.:D

I think this could be a tight game, just hope they raise their game for the occasion. Im gonna be watching this with a mate who supports chelski so there will be a bit of banter flying about anyway. 'Mon the Pool!!

Just realised Pardew scored the winner in the Liverpool V Palace 4-3 semi final, I am withdrawing my support of Newcastle for 4th.

absolutely god awful analysis wasn't it? :D

His insistence on 4-4-2, with Gerrard, Bellamy and Downing all bombing forward against Chelsea with numbers in midfield shows us just how some of these former footballers have not got a clue really

So I can watch the first half after all. If anyone is looking for a phone after 5 today in Nenagh, hard luck!

Yeah, some people are talking about three at the back, which has been successful before against Chelsea but I would rather go 4-2-3-1. F*ck sentimentality and leave Carra on the bench/in the stands.

I dunno about Carra at left back but glad to see he's playing Doni in his natural position on the wing where his innate agility really comes into play.
Helluva cross on him as well!

My predication for toady is that Doni jokes will see a surge if we win and a decline if we lose.

Surely Carra won't be playing today?

It's whether he plays Carroll or not is the big question.

I think he will, 3 at the back with Enrique and Johnson on the wings. If he goes with that I reckon Carroll is nailed on to start too.

Stewart Downing A quieter member of the squad, but proved his quality in the Carling Cup final with a man-of-the-match performance against Cardiff. No full-back will relish facing him when he’s on form.
