Cheapest B&B/Hotel In Waterford City

I'll be staying the night in Waterford city just before Christmas. I'm just wondering what's the cheapest B&B or hotel I could find.

Anywhere that's within walking distance or a taxi ride from the city centre would be fine. Ideally, I would like somewhere that would be €40 or less for the night for a single room.

Travelodge is available for €42 and Woodlands is available for €48 on Friday 21st December.

I stayed in the Rice Guesthouse a good few times. It was usually €40 but last time it was down to €30.

It's grand. The rooms are fine and it includes breakfast which is also a good standard fry up.

Some of the staff though are a little odd. Often the guy at the check in is a not very friendly and looks right scummy with a browring and a dip**** haircut. The breakfast woman reminds me of Mrs. Doyle. The owner seems grand.

I'd go for it. With the breakfast, it's better value than the Travellodge.
It's also very central. It's on Barrack street and you'd walk into the main pub/club areas in 10 mins. And oh yeah, theres also a bar in it. It's a pub+b&b type set up.

New owners in that Rice Guesthouse,I think all the rooms were renovated-They look nice on their website.

You'd giving yourself a lot of time in 10 minutes to get to the centre of town! 4-5 minutes would do you no bother!

Rice Guesthouse is a good shout.

Portree is quite good & convenient too I believe.

It's nice enough, but it's on the expensive side for what you get and the boss woman is a bit of a c**t. I had a run in with her a good while back.

Rice guesthouse is a much better punt.
