Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Perhaps peoples here who know about these things would have any idea what train leaves cork around 12 at night on occasion, sounds like an older engine and whatever it hauls are all lit up.I live near the tunnel exit and have heard/seen this a few times now.

That sounds like you are describing an 071 class loco hauling a ballast train with the HOBS wagons. They only run at night while dropping ballast but can be seen during the day getting into position.

That's it alright id say even down to the lights on the wagons,as I said unusual to hear older engines coming out of the tunnel now as the new engines are much quieter.

I remember going from Mallow to Dublin around 1983 and coming back the attendant had walk the length of the train shouting the next stop, for the benefit of those that were sleeping. As we approached Charleville he would shout Charrrr-le-vil he repeated those 3 words over and over :D
