Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello,

I'm currently working in a full time position and plan on going back to college next year. I will be moving county and will not have much funding for it if any at all as I am totally reliant on myself trying to save is very difficult. Does anyone know what I would be entitled to if my year pay comes in at 18,000-20,000. I'll probably need the full grant.

If your total household reckonable income is as you say above, then you should get 100% fees and maintenance. What rate of this depends on your distance from the college and if you are receipt of BTEA or another SW payment.

Thanks for the speedy reply!!! This whole thing been stressing me out! I'll be going back as a mature student if it makes a difference. Would I get an allowance for living or would rent and college fees be just covered. Also do you know from experience yourself? Sorry if I'm asking silly questions just not up to scratch on how it works. Regardless thanks for the info I really do appreciate it.

Nothing is covered as such you will either get 1k or 3k if you live more than 45km from the college. You won't have to pay fees.

As above by gar, the maintenence part of the grant is for living expenses/pocket money.
Also you must be over 23 on the 1st of January of the year you are entering college. If you previously attended higher education there should be a 3 year gap in your studies. Also you must supply evidence of living independently from the October of the previous year.

OP can you be a little more specific - are you going to do a postgrad? What age are you? When did you leave study before?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Are you living with your parents at the moment?

I'm not. Out on me own. I imagine that'll stand to me? Been out of home for the past 3 years.

The 2014/2015 grant levels would give you subject to eligibility a grant that that would pay fees plus maintenance of either 1200 or 3000.

Of course grant rules change every year so the eligibility rules or amounts could change in 2015/2016.
