Midband plans with high usage caps

    Midband is looking like an option for me in my new apartment. There are some fixed line alternatives but from reading up elsewhere on boards, they're terrible.

    What options are out there on midband plans with higher usage caps, e.g. 50GB+ per month??

    We currently average around 40-55GB transfer a month according to UPC's online portal. Not sure how accurate that is though. This entails videos, audio streaming, general web browsing, downloads etc. No torrenting or heavy downloads generally.

    Options to try, all bill pay, all max plans from their respective providers

    - Tesco Mobile 3G 50Gb
    - Three 3G/4G 60Gb
    - Meteor *for third level students only, available for a limited time* 4G 50Gb

    Which one will be stable etc depends on your location. Generally, Tesco's solution is a bit more likely to be stable as it is based on the O2 network, but it is also quickly becoming obsolete as you get a device not supporting 4G and are locked into a contract on that.

    Vodafone, as far as I am aware, does not offer a suitable option. Nor does O2, but you get their network with Tesco.

    Thanks. Tesco looked interesting, but as you mentioned it's only 3G. Vodafone's is capped at 10GB which is useless.
    I guess Three is a contender then. I currently have a Three sim with a Huawei E5220, do I need to get a new sim for 4G?

    Vodafone does have a 20GB plan but I guess it's still useless for you.

    As for Three, I'm not sure, ask them. But first give a look to their coverage map to see if you are in a 4G area at all.
