Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has a washing machine ever shrunk your clothes?

A question for those among us who do their own laundry...

I washed a "dry-clean only" top in a washing machine once. It came out the size of a dolls jumper. But I've heard this excuse being used for someone's clothes having shrunk by just a few inches. Is this an urban legend? Can your washing machine really slightly shrink selected items of laundry in a load or do these people need to throw out the biscuit tin?

Why did you wash a 'dry clean only' top?

    And yes.

    No.

But I have shrunk my clothes in the washing machine by not following instructions, yes.

Maybe you should post this in the Ladys Lounge, real men (Degsy, Snyper, Me and a select few more) won't have a clue what your talking about OP.

Anyone else (men) - shame on you. Washing Machines me arse.

My wife always shrinks them. She tries to claim I've put up weight but to make them seem that small I'd have to put about about 4 stone in a day.

Yeh man! I buy loads of cheapy Pe**y's stuff and even though I wash the tops at only 40 degrees they still shrink a size or two.....PAH ! :(

Just an occupational hazard of poverty really.

I shrank 1 top I didn't like particularly and my mother did all my laundry when I was in college. Same tactic worked with an ex for 3 years.

My father taught me that when asked to do something domestic such as washing up/hoovering/DIY to do it badly and you won't be asked again !!!!
