Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Will be insulating a house soon that currently has zero insulation. Pumping walls may be a possibility, is this any use? Attic also needs to be done. Any suggestions for best materials and places to buy? Dublin area. Much appreciated! :-)

Depends really on whether insulation (or lack thereof) is the issue. Have you had the house tested for air tightness?

Hi, no didn't realise that this would be a factor. Do the normal companies do this when they look at the job (can't imagine they do! )? I'm completely clueless with this insulation stuff and very mixed reviews online

    1. No. Why would they as it would show in the majority of cases that lack of insulation isn't the real problem.
    2. You need to be sure that the money you spend is going to address the problem. The only way, imo, to do this is to have the house surveyed and tested by an independent and experienced professional in diagnosing the real heat loss mechanism(s) and offering solutions based on actual testing. Anything else is hit and hope really.

Cool, thanks! Will definitely look in to that first. Thanks again :-)

As mick says get a pro in now and they will save you a fortune in the long run.

No point spending 20 grand on windows to save 10% on your heating costs, when 50% of the heat is going through the walls.
