I am looking for some help.I recently obtained planning for a small extension to a house I own.The extension is under 12 square metres.I have obtained a loan from the bank for €50,000.The problem I am having is that my architect is not in the country anymore and has let his insurance lapse.I have sourced a builder and am pretty much ready to start but in order for the bank to release funds I need a engineer/architect to sign off and manage the project.

Anybody else ever had a similar problem? I am also wondering how much should I allow in terms of cost?

So,if You have all paperwork done, You can go to any engineer or architect to manage your project.
We do extension at the moment and engineer cost 5000e, but it can be up to 20 000, depends on the project. Extension we do is over 40m2, but engineer never come to check foundations, structural steel etc., so I believe a good engineer will have more site visits and will cost more.
