Feeling a bit sad tonight.

Started thinking about the first girl I fell in love with when I was 19. It was actually hearing a song on the radio today that stopped me in my tracks and sent old memories flooding in. It is really amazing how a piece of music can do this. It was so long ago, but it was on the radio a lot at the time while I was trying to deal with a broken heart.

I am currently trying to rid myself of feelings for somebody so all this is making me sad!

Well lads, we have all been there! We have all fallen for that one girl that slipped away or was not interested. We all feel sadness and loneliness at times although some of us can't admit it. Are there any songs in particular that remind you of that 'one girl'?

Please tell me I aint the only pathetic guy out there!

The first and last time I truly had my heart broken myself and the then girlfriend listened to this album and this song in particular a huge amount during our time together.This is actually the first time Ive listened to it in probably over a year.Beautiful song but it will forever have bittersweet memories for me.

Song was playing on a radio when we first kissed, it seemed to be playing somewhere and somehow for every special moment between us.

I never realised what i had, she was mad about me. We broke up at the end of the summer this song was out, she was moving away for a year. A regret! Song always reminds me of her in the sad sense.

Whereas this song reminds me of how great being her boyfriend was:

Two songs remind me of the relationship that had the biggest impact on me to date (and not because it was the best, probably because it turned out to be the worst in the end. I was still mad about him though). We used to fight all the time and this was released in the same year. Think David Kitt was going through something similar so this song was therapeutic at the time:

Then he ended because the fighting was so bad and my heart was smashed to pieces. I played this song continously while spending an unhealthy amount of time in bed. Luckily 4 years later I can laugh about it and this song doesn't make me feel sick anymore!!

In 1993 and 1994 I was with my first love, after some real headwrecking sh*t we finally broke up. We both loved "Patience" by G&R. I thought of her for years anytime I heard that song.

They say the music you listen to on your first time of getting your heart broken stays with you forever. I find this to be true. I listened to Achtung Baby endlessly waaay back in 1994 and its still my favourite album of all time.

The lyrics are the most powerful I've ever listened to.

1st Girlfriend- The Killers, mr brightside. Was big when i met her in college.
Summer fling- James blunt, your beautiful (she used give me a lift to and from work, and this was on the radio)
The one that got away- James Blunt, Goodbye my lover (heard it last night and was brought back to the good old times, maybe its just thewords as opposed to actually it being from the time with her)
