Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Amazing Mural of Tipp hero's

I saw this mural of Cork hero's and it got me thinking as to who would make a Tipp version?
It seems he included a famous person from each cateogory of:
Politics,
Athletics,
Music,
Comic presenter,
Rugby,
Soccer,
Politics,
Hurling
Acting.
Which Tipp people would make the equivalent grade?
It would be great to get the artist to draw a Tipp version.0

Just to enlighten you, that operation wasn't sanctioned by their superior officers. The initial goal was to get gel ignite which the 2 ric lads were transporting. The ric guys were unarmed. If I was one of the ric and the ira squad ambushed I'd put up my hands, there's the gel ignite and good luck. However, the 2 ended up dead. The incident caused outrage locally at that time. The only people who know what went on are long dead. However, knowing what happened regarding the numbers involved and who was armed and who wasn't it's safe to deduce the lads were assassinated in cold blood. Can you really see two unarmed lads ambushed like that putting up Resistance to a group of armed men. They were just 2 unarmed bobbys, Irishmen with families. Not Steven segal! You could make the argument that these lads were wearing the uniform of the 'crown' and taking the 'queens shilling'. I just think they were soft targets.
I'm not denying the incident is seen as the spark that lit the fuse of the war of independence. I just don't count that incident as heroic. Therefore I don't see the idea of putting their snouts on a mural as being justified.0 -
