Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Shogun won't start

2.8 shogun would always start up for me then cut out, could only get revs up to 2000 but if left sitting for 5 minutes would start up and go ok until next time.
Yesterday when I went out it failed to start, filters etc were changed but to no avail.
I hear there is a big seal in the injector pump that gives trouble but it seemed like a big job to get the injector pump out as a lot of stripping to be done.
Anyone on here have to do this themselves, its a 1998 jeep that could offer some advice to me:)

pump takes a bit of time to remove, marking the position before removal is the most important bit

That is a good guide in the pocuk link, the work in removing rocker cover to get it to tdc is unnecessary, also no need to remove radiator, viscous fan. They get quicker the more you do. Dont loose your marks anyway. Remember that the gears are helical which creates resistance removing the pump and for reinsertion.

the pump is timed so maybe better leaving that to a mechanic

Of course its timed but you asked what is necessary and unnecessary to remove the pump and do the seal, this can vary to 1 hours work to 15 hours depending on how litttle or how much you know. Do you feel you can tackle the job after reading the pocuk guide?
