Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
I have batons down in my living room and am looking at getting solid wood flooring put down, however I am getting conflicting advice, can you put engineered flooring on batons ? There doesn't seam to be many places seliing solid wood floor any more.

Also does any one know good supplier in the North West/Midlands/West ?

    Thanks

    http://www.wogans.com/

If you contact Wogans they have a huge collection of solid or engineered boards
and they will find you a local stockist.

    Hi galway000
Any good builders merchants carry a wide variety of both floorings. You will not be able to put engineered flooring direct on battens. you would need to put plywood or similiar on floor first.
Most engineered boards are either glued together or quick clip, so you need some type of base apar from battens.
Solid wood can be nailed to battens. Make you you insulate between battens before you put floor down (keeps room very warm aferwards )
There should be a brooks or Buckleys store close to you somewhere.
