I am not sure if this is the right place to put this in so if I am wrong please point me in the right direction. =]

Anyways yesterday I rediscovered a poem that my granny wrote and so I was quite elated, as she died when I was quite young and although I remember her saying poems, I wasn't aware that any had survived in written form after her death. So it was really nice for me to be able to read it and well I thought I would share it with all of you. =]

    The Good Old Days

    I can remember with gladness,
    the horse drawn cart
when the cow manure was taken out into the field
    for the potato crop.

    The little dog barking,
running alongside the two wheeled cart..

    When the manure was emptied
I jumped into this dirty old cart,
Mother was very cross and said
I shouldn't have been in that dirty cart.

But I enjoyed the ride in the cart !

In those good old days of living,
    the air was fresh,
the potatoes were healthy and good to eat
and we children sometimes ran barefooted
    around the street,
we weren't afraid of anyone we might meet,
even though we had dirty feet !

    Maria
