Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I am not sure if this is the correct place if it is not i sorry.

I am not looking for people to write it for me or anything. But i have been given a task to complete for an advertising interview. I have never worked in advertising so any advice would help.

The task is writing a three paragraphs promoting an act for a major festival to be read over the radio to promote it. Can anybody advise me is it better to keep the paragraphs short or long? Or would you use bullet points to get the message across. I was given no word limit so i am not sure of what way to approach it.

I'd write it in the style of a short newspaper article. If you look in your local papers you'll find promotional articles printed without a byline. Just remember that you'll need to get the "who where when" in there somewhere.

The length of the paragraphs isn't important, but make sure you don't have any lines in there that are telling the reader nothing. Write it and then edit it down.

Thanks do you think it's odd suggesting on the radio you can get a feel for what the act does on youtube.

To write for radio, use informal words. Write the way you talk. Create strong word pictures, so people can see and hear the act in their heads. Also, keep your sentences short, so they're easier for the voice over artist to say.
