Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

In my final year of college and have final exams coming up in a few months. I'm looking to buy an impressive, well-fitting but affordable (probably max €500) suit somewhere in Dublin, but have only bought relatively cheap suits in the past so not really sure where to go.

Have any of ye bought tailored or other suits recently? Any good/bad experiences or advice for things to watch out for?

    Thanks!

You'll probably get some more advice in the Fashion & Appearance forum if you don't get the answers you want in here.

I'm not much into the "impressive suit" look, generally when shopping for a suit I'll hit one or two menswear shops and settle on something that fits the budget and myself - I know, uncultured or what :D

    You could try

    www.asuitthatfits.com

if you happen to be travelling across the water any time soon. Simply excellent bespoke suits that cost approx the same as an off the peg one.

Thanks very much for the replies so far!

I did take a quick look at that forum but it seems to be serving a different demographic.

That site does look good, but finals in April and no intentions of leaving the country til after them!

    Abrahams on South Anne Street.

Or else Michael Barrie's on Duke Street.

Go in for the sales after Christmas and get a bargain.
    Don't be afraid to haggle!

If you are interested in getting a bespoke suit made to your body-at a decent price too-there's only one-John Asha http://www.newashas.com/
He has a really small ad in the Independent newspaper on the week or so he's in Dublin.

He comes to Dublin several times a year and he Knows how to make a suit! You'd be surprised when he tells you his list of clients-very well known names!

There's another company called Raja Fashions that come to Dublin too,but I'm not a fan of them and am unimpressed with their clothes (suits too tight and imperfections in fabric) and they are very pushy in their sales pitch too.
