Lidl have new range of craft beer " The crafty Brewing Company" Pale ale, red ale, larger and stout... €5 for 4 bottles. Got the larger one, not bad 5%, nice hoppy flavour off it.

Tried the larger and the red even though I knew it was brewed by Rye River.

Larger is grand, as far as largers go. Has a bit of flavour to it but not much and was a fairly flat as well.

The red was very poor. Watery crap, I'd take a Smithwicks over it tbh.

If anyone is up North then Tesco have the new Guinness beers as part of their 4 for £6, I bought 2 of the West Indies Porter and wish I'd bought a whole lot more. I mean it's no Wrasslers but it's pretty good and at that price is excellent value. I had popped in specifically to try to get the Tesco Finest Porter which is more or less a Harviestoun Old Engine Oil re-badge for £1 but they didn't have it nor had ever heard of it, so maybe never available in Northern Ireland.

Franziskaner on 4 for €5 in Lidl again can it be bet for value? Only leffe @ 4 for €5.50 comes close I think. Don't know if it's all Lidl last time it was posted here it wasn't in my local Lidl

Is it back in stock? Great beer....

There was a full shelf of it in the new Aldi in the Elysian last Friday (its second day of opening), but it was all gone when I went back yesterday. Surprising, because it seemed to be very quiet the two times I've been there for an Aldi at normal times, never mind a city centre one a week before Christmas.

I wonder if it weren't selling well, would they have pulled it off the shelves and moved it to a busier shop?

Jameson RRP is 29.99. Its 22 in Dunnes at the moment. I saw it for 23 in a Tesco express in the city centre, and Joyces in Athenry have it for 20. Stock up now gentlemen.

But that involves leaving the house, a house that still has a healthy stash of Dunnes 4 for 9 beers 😄

Still excellent value, in my opinion :) Aldi must have been fed up with them under-cutting O'Sheas :P

It is but from €1.79 2 weeks ago; it is still some jump.

Though I have another theory. Maybe they wanted to give a bit of market advantage to the Solas range :)

Smuttynose Shoals Pale Ale 5.6% ABV €2 a bottle at drinkstore.ie

Guinness FES was 2.60 approx for much of last year in Tesco.

Then reduced to 1.99, great value, maybe a month or two ago.

Not flashed as a special offer.

    Now 2.15, still good value.

12 bottles of Guinness foreign extra for a tenner in my local supervalu.

Apparently they buy in "loose" bottles (not in cases) and sell em on cheap.

Maybe something to look out for

Wouldn't count that as a bargain it can be got for less than 2.50 a bottle in some places. The lean folain is better value in the 4 for €10.

    That in Dunnes too??

It's a bargain compared to the other option out my way, the Molloys 'offer' price of 3 for €10. Where do you get it for less than 2.50?

The only other O'Hara's on offer in this Dunnes was the stout, 4 for €10, it's nice but agree it's not bargain material. I'd be all over Leann Follain at that price but this Dunnes rarely stocks it at all.

Tesco were under 2 for it but it has gone up a little in price recently.
They're currently 2.59 for the leann follain.

Unfortunately since Christmas it's 4 for a tenner. Lot less choice as well, no kinsale black :(

My local supervalue is €2.99 for all Irish craft beers with only the very occasional 4 for 10 offer. Strangely they have Schneider weiss tap1 for €2.66

At the risk of sounding like a shill, 8 Degrees Full Irish and Amber Ella are €2.40 in Dunnes. They're on trial in a handful of stores, not widely available yet. In Dublin I think they are in Blanchardstown. In Cork they are only in Bishopstown Court.

    2.00 in O'Brien's normally so 2.40 isn't fantastic

Not a bargain as such, but Baggot Street Wines have limited supplies of 200 Fathoms in stock and will take orders over the phone. Just nabbed myself a couple. :D Teelings also tweeted that McHughs and Martins also have some.

I ordered a bottle from McHugh's last night (and a load of other goodies too) so hopefully I'll be able to boost my stouts/porter collection tomorrow or Monday.

Interested to try this 200 fathoms, seeing all the talk about it. seen it my local offie in Galway but was €8.99? For a 500ml bottle. Is that the price of this stuff? Seems very expensive.

€8.49 in some other places. But even at €8.99 it's a 10% beer. How much would you pay for a bottle of wine?

Yep, €8.99 in Baggot St. Wines as well. Collected mine today, really looking forward to trying it. They told me they had 4 cases and it was all sold in 2 days. Surprised it lasted that long tbh.
