We may moan but the European Commission has just announced its prosecuting 8 member states for not implementing the rules.
Electronic Communications: European Commission launches infringement proceedings against eight Member States here
We appear to be one of the good guys though - no day in court for little old Ireland!

The same Etain defined Functional Internet Access = 0k , it used to be a whopping 2.4k but she reduced it.

It is ironic that some of the countries named have the cheapest and most competitive bb markets in the world.

Yet we implement the rules and we still are one of the worst in the world.

It looks like well done to Eircom, you are doing a great job at holding us back.

Competition creates a lot of noise, which gets fed back to MEP's and up the chain to Liikanen and Monti. Ireland is quiet because of simple ignorance. You can't miss what you don't have. This will change if the natural complainers (i.e. us) encourage Joe Ordinary to get off their arse if something isn't working and make some noise.

possibly Pending a report on the subject from Eircom (among a stack of reports scheduled in the USO) which is due on the 24/10/2004 .

An IoffL campaign around then (Late October) would be a very good idea because nothing useful will be done until 2008 bar what arises from that report. I trust that the IoffL campaign won't be on the lines of PLeeeeeeease can we have our 2.4k back ?
