Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Uuuuh .... permission to ask a question ?

Those missiles fired did not actually strike or penetrate the tanks but rather detonated a few feet above them - would this be sufficient to deal a ' knockout ' in combat conditions

That's by design. The NLAW has a Direct Attack mode for soft targets & an Overfly Top Attack mode for armoured targets. The missile detonates an explosively formed penetrator when directly over the target, allowing the missile to maintain a flat flight path, but still attack the weakest part of the armour.

Thanks for posting this. By chance I saw it on that militaryphotos.net site this morning too, I don't usually use it.

Swedish Army are definite contendors for having the coolest looking soldiers on the planet. M90 camouflage. Enough said.

Well the 84 still does the job. As for the mortar. It's funny how harmless looking mortar explosions are. Even their craters look shallow. But their effect is devastating if you're standing nearby.

That was nice shooting from the mortar crew. Good video.

Yup. RB56 and variants - Bofors BILL - providing an irresistible 'knock on the hatch' near you since 1986.

    Haha. Nice.

I heard before that due to the shock to the body from firing the 84mm Carl Gustav that soldiers in the Swedish Army are only aloud fire it about 4 times in a day. Is that true? and is there any rules like that in the Irish Defence Forces?

easy.just give your Irish soldier two rounds per shoot per year.no concussion issue.certainly, no mention of same in the training, when i did it, despite it being common knowledge in other armies.
    regards
