    Hi folks,

Not long in town, Headford in Galway to be exact and just thought i'd sign up and check out whats happening here. Quick intro, I'm from near Edinburgh and moved over with the Irish girl I meet few yrs ago. Anyhoo I'm a musician and record my own demos at home, so would be good to get myself into the ether over here and join in the community. I record using Ableton on a slowly dying laptop with petty limited resources; a banged up acoustic, cheapy bass and electric guitar; but it sounds ok. indie/rock/spacey kinda stuff. ive just recorded a few songs for a demo EP recently and looking forward to seeing what new stuff's going on over here.

anyone interested in a listen here's a link to my soundcloud page, any feedback would be duly appreciated ;-)

Thats about it for now, but be good to know from anyone in the know if they have any recommendations for websites, forums, small labels etc etc.. ciaooo for now :)

Hi - just saw your post - I have just arrived in Galway - I have done a lot of home recording and was wondering if you still do - I went to the deadeyedog soundcloud page but there's nothing public posted. I have posted some tracks here: https://soundcloud.com/vera-violent - I plan to do more.

Hi there, just saw you post, hope things have improved since May!

You've probably guessed there's a different buzz than the UK if you're in a band/musician. With a lot of folks, you're not someone who shares a common interest, you're compertition! Hang in there, it's not all like that.

I'm Dublin based myself, with a Scottish girlfriend, play bass in a rock band. It's new, so nothing recored yet.

You got any of your music online? I'd be interested in hearing it.
    Take it easy :)

Unfortunately I found that out the hard way too. I have been looking for musicians/bands in the Galway area for months without success.

HRR - I am in Galway and in the same boat - you can find my music under Vera Violent on Youtube here:http://www.youtube.com/user/davidos360?feature=watch and there are some songs on Soundcloud and MySpace. I have also worked with a number of musicians in Poland. Here's a video for a song I did awhile back with Korbowod for their album "My Six is Your Nine" which can found on Spotify, iTunes and Bandcamp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJJ4VuD5Pg4

If you are interested in meeting up for a chat, let me know.

    David.
