Xbox Controller for PC

My Xbox is away for repair so I have decided to use the Xbox controller on the PC.

The PC will recognise the controller and install the drivers etc (Including the MS software)

All drivers are in and the device manager is showing the controller yet it is not showing the green light on the charge lead nor is it working on any game??

What am I doing wrong

is it a wireless controller?

edit. obviously it is if it has to charge.

you need one of these to use a wireless xbox contoller on your pc

Its wireless and wired! In other words I can use both! I use wireless on the xbox but wired on the PC which wont work

The play and charge cable is not equivalent to a proper wired connection. Your controller sends its data via wireless only.

You'll need to either buy a wireless receiver or an actual wired controller.

Ah I understand now! Well that solves that problem ha.

I must pick up a wireless receiver so.
