Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There is an Audi A6 leMans Avant 170 with a similar story on done deal from 086-2238505
UK reg BJ10ACZ with a claimed mileage of 110,000 but last MOT says 149,626 miles in March

On some low mileage cars, say up to 50K KM, they can still have the original tyres so 4 same brand is an indicator, especially on lower powered cars. Or at least same brand on spare and non driving wheels.

    Hi all,
Beware of a 2009 Passat Highline 2.0 TDI Estate with a claimed mileage of 96000 miles on carzone at the moment. The vendor's phone number is 085 1531322.

If you check the reg SE09BVW on total car check, it reports that the mileage was 194810 miles at it's last MOT in July.

Never knew about Total Car Check.

    That's amazing!

There is a free service to check mileage for UK cars?

Ireland could do with one of those

Irish politicians and civil servants would want to get off their arse and implement it

It's not an issue when you buy new.

    Glib answers benefit no-one.
What about all the people that can't afford to buy new?
Not everyone is willing or able to buy a new vehicle.
Its a simple measure to enable the mileages at NCT to be recorded on a public database.
No-one is even asking for the faults to be logged just the mileage.

It's an excellent idea, preventing death traps on the roads with way too much mileage than recorded and stopping car purchasers getting defrauded.

If it made money for the govt, you can bet it would be implemented tomorrow.

Here is a thought. Its election time soon, write, phone or pester your local representative about this, its easy to implement.
Bring it up and make it heard and then maybe it could be a runner and help stamp out the clocking that goes on.

It's a road safety issue and consumer issue

It's like the sale prices of house available on line in the UK way before here.
It's possible, an def worth perusing

A system similar to the one in the UK, where anyone can check the MOT history of any vehicle, included the recorded mileage each time the car has been MOT'd, would be extremely easy to implement here if the political will was forthcoming.

This information is already collected and owned by the Irish state, and sitting on databases, just waiting to be accessed. The contract with the Spanish company that currently runs NCT service in Ireland is up in 2019. It could very easily be made a condition of the next competitive tender, at practically no cost to the taxpayer.

Must be an Irish thing, NI also has a central MOT testing station like the NCT they don't show any test data either?
I am going to get on to the Road Safety Authority and see what their response will be.

I think it was a comment about the political classes.
