Sunday World is the lowest rag going. It actually gives me a giggle sometimes it's headlines are so daft.. saw one in the last month which read "Too fat to go to jail" about a dodgy ciggy seller who the court deemed was to fat for prison.

It should probably read, "scores of guns stolen from nerf factory" ... Oh wait... ;)

Connaught Tribune printed an article about "scores of guns stolen" containing this extract below:

"Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald disclosed the information to Fianna Fáil, and said that a total of 1,109 guns were reported stolen from licensed owners in Ireland in the past five years.

That figure included 826 shotguns, 276 rifles and seven handguns. About 600 guns that were stolen were not licensed, meaning the total number of stolen guns was 1,710."

How in the hell are 600 unlicenced guns not licensed?

Are they still counting gunsafes, scopes, toys etc. as guns?

So lets examine the AGS figures...

    22 Shotguns
    6 Rifles
    2 Air Rifles
    1 Imitation
    6 Rounds of ammunition

It would be interesting to see were any stolen from RFD's, all licensed, from gun safes and how many from farmers? Since the info AGS has supplied has been found to be incorrect then all these figures must not be taken as fact.
