Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Gay Sports clubs/societies in Dublin

    Hi all

I am trying to find info on any sports clubs in Dublin which aim specifically at watersports such as swimming, rowing, sailing. I am interested in taking up a new hobbie and want to make a few new gay friends at the same time.

Can anyone think of any of these clubs around dublin?

I've been looking through previous threads on gay sports clubs on here but seeing as a lot of the threads are outdated some of the clubs seem to have wound up at this stage

I know of clubs like wet and wild, but they tend to have many different sporting activities throughout the year and don't concentrate on any particular sports.

If this doesn't work i think i'll have to set up a grindr for people to meet people to take part in sports with them.

Wet and Wild is the only group that exists from what I can tell

There was a swimming group in Dublin but that fell apart

The rowing group seems to have collapsed but reformed a different group

I have to say I really wouldnt rule out Wet and Wild - anything I've heard about it has been really really positive

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Wet and wild could still be an option but i'd prefer to concentrate on one sport if possible and get good at that. To me wet and wild is more relaxed and about getting to know others while at same time doing some sports activities.

As for phoenix rowing club the link you sent is dated 2011. do you know if the new club is the same as the old one just with a new name or has it changed from being a predominately gay club?

    Why wouldn't you do both?

Join Wet and Wild to get to know gay people and join a "straight" or not exclusively gay club to get better at a sport?
