Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Not getting paid during my holidays

    Hello,
    due to payment schedule, which was displayed by my employer, I should get my salary today. However after checking my account, it was not there.

    I am on my holidays now and on my notice period as I got a better job offer. I am not coming back after the holidays finish.

    When I called HR department to ask about my salary, I was told that I would not get paid this week, because I am on holidays, so they cannot pay me.

    Is it legal? Have never ever met with such a situation before at work.

    I analyzed the contract again, also the handbook for employees and it just confirmed what I remembered - there was nothing said about n o t paying employees when they are on holidays.

    It is especially frustrating, as I should pay my rent soon (before the next salary payment date) and my landlord is very strict about doing it on time. I informed a person from HR about it and it was obviously ignored.
    Another thing is that if the two payment will be joined, I will have to pay a higher tax.

    Are you weekly paid? Did you get double salary before your holidays?
