We were wondering whether anyone can help us identify the nocturnal animal/bird cry that we have been hearing for the past couple of nights somewhere across the fields opposite our house in rural Offaly, the recording isn't brilliant & you'll need to turn speakers up full.........
    Hope someone will recognise it.
    Thanks

Thank you Magerleague that sounds just like it ! they are out there now & they sound really eerie calling across the field in the pitch dark, we'll be out there with the binoculars tomorrow, didn't realise they could be nocturnal.

Yes you were right Themajorleague, there are definitaly two pairs of Lapwing maybe more in residence in the field opposite.
    Thanks again for your help.
