Is it better to communate from Lusk/Rusk or Maynooth in to Dublin by car?

I am looking into buying a house for 200/240 k max so I am considering locations outside Dublin such as Maynooth and Lusk/Rush.
I work in EastPoint Business Park (standard 9 to 6 with some flexibility), would you know which location would be easier to commute from by car?

Rush/Lusk will be far handier as you won't be hitting the traffic on St. Johns Road and along the quays as you will encounter coming in via the M 4. As to times, well it's going to be a learning curve as to just how long it will take.

Thanks for the reply. I just looked at Google Map and you are right. Traffic does seems much better coming from Rush/Lusk.

Could you get a house in Clongriffin for that price? A lot closer than either option above.

Yes but I have mixed feeling about Clongriffin. The houses are so close to each other and they seem to park everywhere...

You could get a house in Lusk Village estate in Lusk and have that too !

You are right but considering my budget I son't much of a choice

Looking at Dublin 7 too (McKee Park and East Cabra).

Is that it? I need to get to East Point Business Park so I would say it would take an hour at least and 40/50 minutes from Lusk/Rush.

The 32 minute option includes the Port Tunnel which would run €10 each way at the times the OP mentioned.

33X stops at the Point, takes about 25 mins from Lusk ( bottom shop)

Thanks I did not know that this bus stops at the Point. I guess I cannot get better than this

if I don't want to drive in.

Anyone driving from Rush/Lusk to EastPoint/Clontarf directions in the morning?

Would you not take the train from rush/lusk?

The train would take under 30min to get to clontarf then there's the free bus over to East Link.

I get the train every morning from Lusk to Connolly and it's perfect.

Does the train gets to Clontarf? Is the train packed?

Not really because it's the commuter train, it's usually fine. It's the DART that's usually packed.

Came on to say that. Train would probably take 40 mins or so. Not every commuter train from Lusk would stop at Clontarf Rd. though, but you could jump off at Malahide or Howth Jct. and wait for a Dart.

You need to change to get a DART to get to Clontarf Road.

Most commuter services into Dublin from Lusk, stop at Howth Junction where you can swap, or Malahide. You are more likely to get wait less in Howth Junction, as there's DARTS going 2 ways, but the darts will be more full.

Haven't got the train in a long time, but it used to be standing into and out of Dublin from Lusk. You might get a seat in Malahide outbound.

I used to get the 33x from the train station and it would take the same amount of time as the train to Tara st. This was before the M1 was 3 lane. It'd be faster now.

You're right my bad, the trains from Lusk don't stop at Clontarf Road.
