Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Public patient referred to private hospital by HSE charges?

Just wondering if anyone knows the situation with regards to charges for a public patient in a private hospital. I was referred to the ENT department a few years back, due to long waiting list, the HSE referred me onto a private clinic. Following consultation, was told I needed surgery and it was approved by the HSE. Am scheduled for surgery in three weeks in the private hospital and will require an overnight stay. Will I be liable for just the standards charges as detailed on the HSE website for Public Patients?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, been looking for ages

Would be fairly sure you are just liable for the standard charges.
    Hope it goes well.

you are only liable for public charge/statutory government levy of €75 per night. The HSE pay the difference.

For one night in a private hospital, after having been referred by the HSE, you should pay €75 only.
