Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Need advice on Gilets

    I'm looking to get a Gilet for early morning and cool days cycling.
    I want it to be windproof, breathable and of poss a waterproof front.

    Have looked at Altura Raceline and Raceline Pro and also Castilli Fawesome 2 but thats very expensive.

    Never had a gilet, so interested in what others have tried and tested before I choose...

    I have a Altura Nightvision gilet.Have it 2 years now,still in perfect condition.Its one of my favourite cycling clobber.I use it with a base layer and jersey when the temps are above about 6 celcius.Below 6 c I wear my baselayer and a winter cycling jacket.I own a lot of Altura clothing,its fuctions well and lasts long.

    Castelli Free Gilet (Warmer than the Fawesome but cheaper)

    I prefer the thermal type gilets over along sleeve jersey and is sufficient for late autumn / early winter

    I've not found 1 particular place that's the cheapest for everything. 1 place might be cheapest for 1 certain item and another place cheaper for a different item. One just has to google around

    It is more like a fitted winter jacket without sleeves. If rolled up tightly it may fit into a back pocket bit will look quite bulky
