Volkswagen touareg prop shaft repair/replace

have a 2008 v6 2.5 automatic with 80km
it seems the prop shaft is gone on it and seems to be a well known issue when i looked up on forums..

My conclusions:
In the center console , you can feel the vibrations coming directly up
Once it hits 35km the shuddering becomes much more noticeable, you wouldn't want to go any quicker.
It seems the prop shaft goes on these between 70 -80,000 km

Have anyone had the same issues on these?
From what i read again, it seems VW dealers will only supply the full shaft and the bill can run to a 2-.5K

Has anyone used one of the mods refurb units out there and where have they got it done? Is it a big job?

Did you get any info on this m8, mine bit the dust 5 minutes ago.

The Vertex kit looks a good solution, but I haven't found a European seller yet.

Cheers m8, saw them on Google earlier, but was just too late to ring them.
The advantage of the EPS / Vertex solution is the shaft doesn't have to be taken out, but I don't see them this side of the pond.

Only the centre bearing needs to be replaced. You'll need the stronger one with the red bearing in the middle, it's available here:

If that's drive shaft services I wouldn't go near them have seen some jobs they have done like welding in universal joints and the likes absolute cowboys. But that shaft is the same as the porsche jeep and there a common failure anew one is crazy money. I think vw say u must replace the shaft

They did a front driveshaft on a Sorento for me recently and the quality was top class, good as new in fact.

This one had broken out the hardy spicer so was largely wrecked. She was lucky not to wreck the gearbox.
