Hello! I am looking for a laptop under €500, for light gaming (minecraft etc.) and general use apart from that, however I am doing a computer programming thing so some I might be running some high-intensity programmes in the future. So after a bit of research, I am looking for a reliable brand, i5 3210m, at least 4gb Ram…

I am looking for a laptop under €500, for light gaming (minecraft etc.) and general use apart from that, however I am doing a computer programming thing so some I might be running some high-intensity programmes in the future.

So after a bit of research, I am looking for a reliable brand, i5 3210m, at least 4gb Ram and 500 gb HDD (7200rpm if possible) a dedicated graphics card would be brilliant but doesn't seem possible at this price range.

No 2nd gen from the UK site:

yeah, windows 7 isn't a problem, but the Dell has a 3rd gen i5 for €500 so no point dropping to a 2nd gen i3 to save €20. Thanks though!

The dell has no USB 3.0 port, plus the webcam is .3 MP (same as Lenovo)

No 3.0 port could be a problem, but not a huge one, same with webcam. Processor is the main thing.

Anyday, ASUS are one of the most reliable brands, dell are low to average for reliability, and Dell have the worst support by a country mile.

Even if the specs were worse?

Dell - €500-i5(3210m 2.5ghz, up to 3.1ghz), 6gb, 1tb HDD

Asus - €539-i5(3317u 1.7ghz, up to 2.5ghz), 4gb, 750gb HDD

Better finish on the Asus, it also has Bluetooth aswell as the 1 USB 3.0 port (same as Lenovo).

That looks decent. It comes up as 559 euro though. Where do you get a discount code to bring it to 500 ?
