Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How much notice for a witness summons?

Had a witness summons delivered today for a high court PI case that is next week.

I feel this is too short notice as it is the other side of the country.

I understand I am obliged to attend but in fairness it doesn't give much time to organise work etc around it.

Anyone experience similar short notice and any way around it? Can the case be deferred to another date for this reason?

You're only entitled to three clear days notice only.

Contact the solicitor that arranged for the witness summons to be served on you and explain any difficulty.

Its possible that you are an important enough witness that the case has to be adjourned.

Its possible that your evidence can be agreed with the other side.

Its possible that you can be given a reliable estimate of when you will be called, so as to prevent hanging around.
