Yeah so I've had a cheapass Epiphone SG Special for a while and the intonation has always been slightly off, it's becoming increasingly annoying. Use a ruler. Don't worry about being accurate to .00000001 of a centimetre. Just follow the basic guidelines illutrated on that page and you'll have a reasonably decent set up afterwards.
