Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Myself and a friend are thinking of heading off for the summer to work in Spain or Portugal.. Bar work preferably. I myself can also play some music.. This could help me a bit and my friend has a bit of bar work experience. I also worked in a local pup for school work experience.

Has anyone have any tips for us on how to find jobs out there or even any connections might serve us better?

    Cheers

You do know there's 40% youth unemployment in spain? I'd be fairly sure wages are subsequently very very low. You could get very very lucky but i wouldn't head over without something set up.

there are bars and restaurants closing in the algarve, so jobs are hard to come by.

i can only suggest something on albufeira in the algarve, if you want to sign up to albufeira.com forum and post up a thread, you might get lucky. the guys on this forum are very helpful about albufeira

perhaps you could post on the expat forums in portugal and spain

Unemployment is incredibly high even in the likes of tenerife which is one of the busiest resors unemployment is 37% so 1 in 3 people have no work and as there is no ´´dole´´or social security system no money either....and yes to stay here longer than 90 days requires you apply for residencia which means proving an income and or employment (slim to little chance there then !!)and having private medical insurance tp prove you will not become a ´´burden on the state.
So you need a few languages under your belt to give you an edge unfortunately it's not like 10 years ago where you just show up and get a job no problem

    Youth unemployment in Spain is more like 55.2% (Q4 2012). Edit: 57% Q1 2013

Jobs are like hen's teeth on the Costa del Sol.
