Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I could post mine but it might be considered X rated and not appropiate.
Might have to tone down the wallpaper.

Use Stardock "Fences" myself to group icons.
You double click on the screen and all your icons can vanish at appropriate moments too.

    Mine at times.

It's on 1024 x 768 resolution cuz I have the TV acting as a clone.

I is running Crystal XP, modified version with loads of bloated stuff shaved off for better performance. Also it installs with loads of islamic reading material :pac:

Use this one mostly. The Dalek and Tardis are Yahoo widgets that move around and say "exterminate" and make the Tardis sound. Gives me my 11 year old something to play with when bored.

The K-9 picture at the top changes every 5 minutes through a Yahoo widget.

I set the taskbar to auto hide and pin programs to the start menu or quick launch bar if I use them a lot. Other programs I organise into categories in the start menu, like security, internet etc. to save space. Hate clutter!

Take the image you want to use and split it in Photoshop/similar into two images then apply them seperately. Easy:)

I have great tool called "Displayfusion Pro".
Great tool. A tiny little app that sits in the background and is an icon (upon reboot) that resides near your clock.
    See here: http://www.binaryfortress.com/displayfusion/
    • Advanced Multi-Monitor Taskbar support
    • Use a different desktop wallpaper image on each monitor
    • Use a desktop wallpaper image that spans all monitors
    • Randomly change your desktop wallpaper using local images or images from Flickr
    • Drag or middle-click the taskbar of maximized windows to move them to other screens
    • Auto-snap windows to the edge of your monitor
    • Integrated Flickr.com image search & download
    • Integrated Vladstudio.com image search & download
    • Window TitleBar Buttons to move/size/control windows
    • Manage application windows with fully customizable hotkeys:
      • Move windows to the next monitor
      • Move windows to the next monitor and maximize them
      • Move windows to the centre, top, bottom, left or right side of the monitor
      • Size windows to a configured size or percent of the work area
      • Maximize windows so that they span all monitors
      • Customize your own hotkeys to do anything you can imagine

    Using the same tool...

For those with dual screens, here are some good free sites to start ye off:

    http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/70-beautiful-dual-monitors-desktop-wallpapers/

    http://www.dualmonitorbackgrounds.com/

    http://wallpaper.ouzs.com/dual_monitor_2880x900.htm

With "Displayfusion Pro" (link above) it makes applying them dead easy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

Ultramon is a program any running windows with dual screens should have. Can't remember all it's features but one I remember the most was it would extend the taskbar across two screens. It would also add new buttons (near mimimise maximize etc) to move window to other monitor and extend window over the two monitors.

Cheers for that app. Check it out but on mine on one pc (Win7 of a dual boot) it ran into problems.
Noticed it said "beta" too so I guess they are still working on the kinks.
will keep an eye on it though. Could be a good alternative in the future.

i also ran into problems using it on Vista 64 bit so i'm assuming win7 is the same. but it wasn't supported at the time i used it with vista.

works flawlessly on my xp work machine though.

I'll stick with the "Displayfusion" tool (info and links back a few posts) for the time being. Dead easy to use and serves me well.

    Who made you a mod?
You cannot control the replies ones gets in a thread as much as you would like to.

"Post your Desktop" threads (you have started 3 so far in such a short while!!!) will inevitability bring some questions from others - this you don't seem to like so you go off and start another thread - then order us like a mod to use your next latests one!!!

Who the hell do you think you are?

Same threads in so many weeks!
    (1) http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055752543
    (2) http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055757295
    (3) http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055752764

Then you cross post out of sheer laziness!
    http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055753980

Other folk here are trying to be extremely helpful. All you are doing here in this computer section is starting same threads and barking orders 119 posts in.
I for one am getting sick of it. Jeasus, we can't even reply to topics raised now for fear of being ordered/lectured!!!

As been pointed out more than once now, this thread contains information, links, help that might be useful - but you want the whole thing deleted!
If help is offered or a matter raised, its only because folk want to learn or solve a problem. Its going to happen in every thread you start and not just stay absolutely just desktop screens.
People WILL post questions. The rest of us are here to help.
You can't seem to accept that situation, appear to get into a strop and immediately run off and start-up another thread on the same subject (yet again!) to try and attempt just to avoid this.
    Jeasus!!!

I apologise mods for getting angry but this guy is getting ridiculous!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,485 ✭✭✭✭Khannie

    Hmmmm.....

Firstly, Smau5, you've a few things to learn. Repeatedly posting the same thread is a nono, as is cross posting in multiple forums as is back seat moderation. There's a newbie FAQ forum here and I'd suggest you read it.

Biggins: I understand that you were frustrated but it's probably best just to report the post and leave it at that. If you're REALLY cranky you can report it twice and I'll pick up what yer puttin' down. :)
