    Hi Peeps,

Buying a house and need life insurance, does this need to be specific for a Mortgage, or just general insurance. Also, any feedback on the best rates around???

I'm buying a property and the agreed price has been 98000, can anyone tell me what to expect in fee's, i.e stamp duty, solicitor, land reg etc.

I got a quote for 922.00 including vat, for professional fees

P.S how much is the norm for a valuation of a property??

The minimum you are required to give your lender is mortgage protection - which is a term life policy with a reducing sum assured and fixed premiums.

Go to an independent broker for the best rates.

Valuers fee is approx. €130/€150, Stamp duty is 1% of the purchase price. Professional fee seems good value. Land registry will be €600 and on mortgage €175, folio and searches approx. €150.

Lender will require a mortgage protection policy to cover the mortgage and term and you will also have to note their interest on your buildings insurance policy and provide them with a letter of Indemnity.
Broker will give you the best price and Zurich are offering a discount on protection premiums at the moment.

That sounds about right for legal and stamp duty. Best of luck.

Sorry to drag up an old thread. Does anyone know if there is an end of term payout on Aviva Life Security Mastercover. I have lost my documents and am not sure if I am due a pay out. I will give them a ring over the next few days but someone on here may have the answer.
