Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Being away to UCD on the first game of the season is like getting a great toy at Christmas but the batteries were forgotten.

    Don't think we have ever had an easy ride there. Ill be happy enough as long as we do not lose.

    We are completely decimated with injuries and suspensions for our game against Rovers. Shame, as with our first choice 11 I really fancied us to give Rovers a good go, and we play nice ball under Cooke so it would have been good for the tv cameras as well. As it is it'll be a backs to the wall, 4-5-1 at home job (we only have 1 striker available :()

    Still, can't wait!!

    Why would anyone want to be the home team on TV. You will lose at the gate and the FAI keep the money paid by RTE as compensation now, don't they? There is nothing to gain by being on TV.

    They can keep the cameras out of the Showgrounds all season for all I care.

    One of the benefits (maybe the only one now) is more exposure for your sponsors-those on your kit and around the ground.

    According to a member of our board they weren't contacted by RTE or the FAI in relation to this.

    The club signed players in the time we had no manager, I don't think we'd be unable to make a small decision like that.

    With all due respect your board confirmed Cook was definitely staying a couple of days before he went not so long ago. Funnily enough it was around the same time RTE would have been discussing what fixtures to televise. This rumour definitely has legs, there are too many good sources leaking the story for there not to be some truth in it IMO. I'm not saying the member of your board who denied it is lying but with the turmoil at board level in recent weeks maybe he is unaware of other board member(s) receiving a phone call from RTE/FAI and forgetting to call back.
