Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi all, im 37 weeks 6 days and at a hospital appointment yesterday i found out the baby is breech. Last week at another appointment he was head first so he has moved back the wrong way!! They are bringing me in early next week to try and manually turn the baby, i think its called in ECV. Anyway if it doesnt work then i will have to have a c-section, which i really dont want..My head was all over the place when i was told all this so didnt ask enough questions so was just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and if their baby turned itself? im presuming the doctor/midwife doesnt think he will turn and thats why im being brought it to try turn him. Also are there any excercises or anything like that i can do to try and get him to turn himself? any advice appreciated.

    Thanks:D

I had twins and one baby turned around the gestation you are now, so it is definitely possible! I was told a good way is a warm bath, get in with water up to just below your navel, then a bag of frozen peas or something else cold on top of your belly, baby will try to get away from the cold.

Have a look at http://www.spinningbabies.com/ it has many excercises and things you can to to encourage baby to move head down.

thanks, i just checked out some websites, nothing i read really sounded as if it would work but who am i to judge that LOL! So im going to try. I am worried how painful this ECV will be also as there was a comment on one of the sites i looked at about turning the baby and this woman said it was extreemly painful and she would never try it again if she was told the baby was breech again. I know everyone has different pain thresholds but im kind of dreading havin it done now!! Hopefully il go in for the ECV and the will check his position before doing it and he will be head first:D

hey,, im kind of in same position as you. I am 36 weeks and told baby was breech, they are going to scan on Monday and possibly discuss ECV which I dont want either. So ill be trying those excercises on spinning babies! Fingers crossed for you qwertytlk!

just posted this in another thread

Our little girl only turned at 38 weeks. se were in holles street, and the Doctor said

"i see from your last visit (2days ealrier that its breech) i'm going to book you in for a section tomorrow"

he then checked the ultra sound and said "good news it turned in the last 2 days"

Wifey took some Pulsatilla she was given by a friend of ours whos a homeopath

    http://www.midwiferytoday.com/articles/turnbaby.asp

We can't say for sure that it was what turned our abby, but it may have been the reason, it would be worth considering.
