Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey- ho, let's go ...

If I learned anything from the 80s, it's that you never, ever cross your streams while Ghostbusting, never ever feed your Gremlin after Midnight and never ever let Jooooooooeeeee Duffy plug a book about dead children on the Late Late Show. It's misery to the power of infinity. Joe should depart at 3pm, and Tubs should start at 9.35pm. Not together. Ever.

A wise and learned man (who will be getting excited about the last guest) used to say "Oliver Callan is a good mimic, but he needs better material" and who am I to disagree? You can judge for yourselves tonight.

Lenny Henry used to be big. Now he is best known for doing Hotel adverts and Comic Relief. Do you remember that time on the LLS when he ... ? Lets see that again!

    PA-15716147.jpg
If RTE can fill up the LLS with Youtube clips, I can do do the same for the OP. He be on tonight for some reason

A bit more, salute to Atlantic Dawn for the word on the street ...

Professional Scaremongerer Paul Williams and Mairead Lavery talk about Crime and Punishment. Not the book, the real thing

and some Sailors from our Navy report back from their recent posting in the Mediterranean saving drowning refugees

Bit of music from Ladyva (Boogie Woogie Piano Player who is not Jools Holland) and Jamie Lawson (sings 'I wasn't expecting that' which was a hit in Ireland some years ago, which BBC Radio 2 started airing last month after Ed Sheeran signed him to his Record Label)

And that's all I've got for now. If the apocalypse hasn't started, and if Boards is working, I will see you later.

Also Paul Williams and Mairead Lavery on to talk about the "crime wave" in the country and there's a few of the crew from the returned Irish Navy boats to talk about their trip down the Med to rescue people.

The staff in the canteen have to listen to those muttonheads chat away every day, no way they'll be tuning in tonight. It'll feel like they're working on a friday night. They'll just be asking the tv "Do you want gravy on that??"

Callan's Kicks had a good skit tonight about Joe Duffy blatantly trying to plug his Dead 1916 Kids book nonstop during Liveline even when it had nothing to do with whatever was being discussed.

"And we were left at the Airport waiting for six hours, Joe"

"Sure, sure, And it must have been hard on the kids. So hard, like the poor dead children of 1916 God be good to them"

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,749 ✭✭✭✭grey_so_what

Is it me, or is boards going 'fakackta' again? :(

Maybe it's Tubs and Joe tinkering with the website, aware of the er, incoming positivity on this thread :D

My Jim Corr senses have me thinking the crapness of this line up is a deliberate attempt to get people to give up on this thread, and it's weekly positivity.

    Think about it.

    Think about it.

I wonder will Joe be classy and carry on a normal sized copy of The Book or will he have an oversized one made up for Ryan?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,673 ✭✭✭✭Ol' Donie

I do like Lenny Henry, mind you.

Don't think he's that funny, like. Just seems like a nice chap.

Just as well he is/was a comedian, though. Fierce difficult to take anything seriously in that particular accent.
