Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Buffalo NAS not working

    Hopefully someone can help. I got a Buffalo Link staion 500Gb. I have setup the Web Access->Enable features. I am able to gain access to the Linkstation menu system on the Network called "home". When I go to www.buffalonas.com/nameoflinkstation I can login and access the web enabled features. However when I try to access it from another Internet location, it says page cannot be displayed. The router is the Netopia 2200 series. I have the Linkstation connected to the router and it has a IP address. DHCP is enable and so is UPnP. ? Has anyone else has a problem?

    I would imagine you need to forward a port on the netopia. What port i can not say Refer to the documentation on the drive.

    Thanks, I thought that the UPnP would would automatically forward the port number?

    So I opended up the port (TCP) on the Firewall and still, I can't access the Buffalo Linkstation from another internet station. I can't think of anything that I am doing wrong.Should I do the same to UDP?. Does anyone know if there a way to check with Buffalo that the Linkstation name is "registered" on their server?

    Just saw your notification now. Not sure if I'll be of much help though :)

    Could try:
    1. putting NAS in a DMZ to make sure it's nothing to do with ports and take it out fairly lively after getting your answer
    2. setting up a DynDNS account and installing the update client on a PC. This should bypass Buffalo's own system (querying a database, presumably, with the NAS device phoning home periodically?)
