    What the 31st Dáil needs is stop aping the 'Mother of Parliaments' and reflect modern Ireland.

    More men in pink shirts, jeans or slacks, shirts outside pants.

    Smart casual rather than Louis Copeland.

    Get rid of the prayers out of respect for the Tanaisté.

    Men in suits got us into this mess and it's men and women in jeans who'll get us out of it.

    Having our TD's looking like twats in the Dail isn't going to sort the economy, and if they were casually dressed over the last 20 years it wouldn't have made a difference.

    If they're going to make a balls of it anyway, they might as well be well dressed while doing it.

    On a slightly serious point. I would go with Joan Burton for Ceann Comhairle. It would solve a lot of problems. There will be around 110 members of the new government so there will not be enough cabinet or junior ministries to go around for the big hitters so homes will have to be found for some of them.

    Joan Burton makes perfect sense as whatever we think of her, she is bright, is totally familiar with parliamentary procedure which will be invaluable considering the amount of new faces, and for Labour means they will have a chance of another seat at the next election.

    Finally, no one in their right mind would dare harangue her.

    It was a 'twat' who topped the poll in Wexford.

    Developers who wore suits were the one's bidding half a billion for an acre in Ballsbridge, it was bankers in suits lending them the crazy money and politicians in suits egging them on.

    Arguably, Irelands most successful businessman, Michael O'Leary is the one who is never seen in a suit.

    Wearing a suit doesn't make you more intelligent, it just makes you think you are.

    What was all that 'champione' football chanting about when he was elected?
    I didn't get the connection between a football chant and politics, unless it was a tribute to Silvio Berlusconi and AC Milan.

    They werent developers because they wore suits, they wore suite because they were developers. Same with the bankers.

    Similarily, O'Leary isn't irelands most successful businessman because he doesnt wear a suit. He just doesnt.

    It's completely irrelevant what they wear. Admittedly, if enda kenny went into the dail in a few weeks in a pink dress it might cause some problems, but your argument that suits are the root of all evil is just ridiculous.

    If that was my argument then it would be ridiculous but it isn't.

    It's not the suts but the mindset that inspires the suit wearing.

    The suit is a symptom not a cause.

    Conformity out, originality in.

    Michael O'Leary could imagine the future. Mick Wallace didn't swallow the big is beautiful nonsense. Not because of what they wore but because they applied the same original way of thinking to their business as they did to their dress.
