Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    This latest announcement seemed pretty definitive compared to previous announcements - I'd say were safe enough to believe it's going ahead for sure now.

    As for Duchovny, I reckon he'll be fairly tied up with X-Files, so I wouldn't go holding my breath on that one...

    Think it's one of these event series Fox seem to enjoy doing these days like 24. Now to wait for a Firefly event series.

    He is also in Aquarius, whch is another event series, but looks like that's already completed

    Theme song was instrumental - no Julie Cruise. She did a couple of tracks on the soundtrack album, and appeared in at least 1 bar scene.

    Or perhaps 'Falling' by Julie Cruise is the worded version of the theme song?

    Either way, there were never any vocals on the TV theme.

    Agree. Last thing I want to hear is some updated remix of the old theme as the intro. When it aint broke don't fix it.

    ‘Twin Peaks’ Sets Production Start Date, Eyes Possible 2016 Debut On Showtime
    Not surprisingly, Twin Peaks dominated Showtime’s TCA executive session. At the top, Showtime Networks president David Nevins announced that the followup series from David Lynch and Mark Frost is slated to start production in September. Lynch is set to direct all episodes. He and Frost actually wrote one long script. Lynch will shoot the series continuously as a movie, and later cut it into episodes. Originally envisioned as being 9 episodes, the series will likely run longer but the exact number of episodes is still in flux and won’t be known until after filming is completed, Nevins said.

    TVLine has learned exclusively that Michael Ontkean has opted not to reprise his beloved role of Sheriff Harry S. Truman in the upcoming limited-run revival.     That is a shame alright. However Forster is a great actor and will be a great fit for the Twin Peaks universe. I am thinking of his cameo as a cop in Mulholland Drive, he is born to act in the Lynchverse.

    That's a shame - I thought Harry was a great character and can't see anyone other than Ontkean in the role, so hopfully Forster will be playing a new character rather than a re-cast...

    Ontkean has been retired since 2008, besides an appearance in the 2011 film, The Descendants. He turns 70 in January.

    Am wondering will there be any interest from under 40s? If you saw first run in 1990 and were, say 15, its only early 40s at the minimum who would know about it, I'd say most people were a bit older than that when it was first on.

    I'm in my thirties and absolutely adore Twin Peaks. I was aware of if as a cultural phenomenon when young and did my best to get into it when I was finally able.

    Yeah just wondering, I'm in my mid 40s and worked in a place until 2010, when people there (early 20s to early 30s mostly) talked about great tv shows it was mostly, Sopranos, Lost , X Files and stuff like that, when I mentioned Twin Peaks nobody had seen it, though a few had heard that David Lynch had made it who some knew from Blue Velvet, I'm doubting that 20 somethings now know anything about it?

    Did a course recently which had a wide range of age groups attending. Anyways, got talking to one of them (19) who was a massive fan of all things Lynch and Twin Peaks in particular. As you said above, the big shows like Breaking Bad, Sopranos & The Wire will always be more popular (amongst all age groups really). But I find with Lynch his work will always resonate with younger viewers too, at least those who like their TV/Film to be a bit offbeat.

    Good to know, wasn't sure if TP had crossed the generations, one problem is of course that TV hasn't by and large rerun 4/3 stuff since the late 90s, (when people in their 20s now were 6 or 7) when I was growing up we knew all the classic TV shows, even stuff like The Twilight Zone from the 50s and believe it or not 1920s and 30s stuff like Laurel and Hardy and Flash Gordon because stations didn't worry about aspect ratios as it was all 4/3, even black and white shows were popular.

It seems to be mostly shows from the 2000 - onwards that get reruns these days. But now with most shows at your fingertips, its never been easier to watch an old show from pretty much any decade.
