Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I may be totally wrong on this but I think I heard that it can be bad for laptops to be run on AC power rather than on battery. Something about reducing the life of your battery? Any truth in that at all???

Only if you constantly run the laptop on AC power and never use the battery. I'm in the habit of letting my battery run nearly flat at least once every two weeks (but generally more frequent than that). whats the point in having a battery (and a laptop) if your not going to use it untethered from the AC!

If I'm at home I usually completely remove the battery from my Laptop, then just run it on AC power. I think that is the best way to "preserve the lifespan" of my battery. - Problem then is accidentally pulling the plug.
