Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Firstly I would like to say thanks for the help I got here when choosing my new laptop.I got it Tuesday. All the advice I found on old posts from people and the few people who replied to me were great. I definitely wouldn't have been able to manage without it.
Anyways this is my problem... i want to burn a cd for some music I downloaded and when I go to WMP to burn it, it says to 'connect a burner and restart the player' Looking on some other forum it says to uninstall Roxio which I have no idea about...
If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it .
    Thanks

Try using Roxio CD Burning utility to burn the audio cd instead of WMP. Click Start( Round Windows Symbol) and look for Roxio in the Programs menu, it should have a step by step process for burning a music cd, just point it to the mp3s/audio files and see if it burns the cd. Just trying to eliminate the Windows Media Player factor to see if its a problem with Roxio or indeed your CD drive.

If roxio didn't detect your CD/DVD burner you have to select it in the 'options /preferences' menu or from this screen below. I used to have it on my comp beards ago and heard of a problem using it with internet explorer.
what version is it? this is a screeny of 'roxio easy cd creator 5'.

it is a Roxio creator DE 9 which came installed in the computer. When I opened it up it asks me to upgrade to easy media creator suite 10

It sounds like it might be more trouble than it's worth. Use something free if your just making music cd's or iso images like infra recorder. It's a great little app.

You could also use burn4free. I haven't used it much myself but I know a few people who have used it and it's meant to be fairly good.

I've downloaded all of them, but it is still not picking up a dc burner. When I go into device manager, then dvd/cdrom drive it says 'tsst corp dvd+-rw ts-l63hatadevice' with a lovely little yellow exclamation mark next to it!!!!

When I click on that it tells me that 'Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)'
Which is just brilliant cause I haven't got a clue what all this means....So much for a brand new machine.
Anyways thanks for all your help.Shalom
