Recorded some concert footage with a panasonic camera.

Copied file to my pc and I have video but no sound.

I tried playing it with wmp, vlc and quicktime.

The media info for the audio in the file in VLC is

    Type : Audio

    Codec : PCM U8 (u8)

    Language: English

    Channel : Mono

    Sample rate : 8000 Hz

    Bits per sample : 8

Anyone any ideas how I could get audio working?

Must be audio codec issue. Try K Lite Codec pack

Thanks for help but didn't work.

Maybe the camera didn't record audio despite what vlc says?

Probably the only way to know for sure would be to import it into video editing software which should show the audio separately

For compatibility purposes the video was probably encoded with a blank audio track. Was the camera set to record the audio as well as video?

No settings on it for audio, must be no microphone in it.

    Thanks for help anyway.

Yeah I think yoyo is right - an audio recording of a concert at 8000hz would be absolutely worthless anyway, you would just hear noise.
