Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking for affordable small venue

My group are looking to produce a showcase night/s next year and we are looking for a suitable venue in Dublin city. It will probably be over two nights and consist of a bunch of 15 min plays, each with 1-3 actors.

So a small venue is required, no more than 50 seated.

Names that spring to mind are The Harbour Playhouse and The Pearse Centre. The Teachers Club would be too expensive.

So I'm just putting this up for any other suggestions.

    Thanks.

The Teacher's Club is I believe the cheapest black box space in Dublin but they only hire for a full week.

Pearse and HP sound like your best bets as they do day to day hires. Check out both venues before making your decision.

Ring around some schools too. They may be able to accommodate you.

What about that Bewleys Cafe thing? I've only heard the name, I know nothing about it.

I heard the new theatre can be negotiable on price (though I haven't dealt with them personally)
A friends company has also used a space upstairs (above the jolly monk, used to be twisted pepper) at 52 middle Abbey st. I think it's move of a music venue but it has a stage and a lighting system, the only problem is as it's above a pub you will get sounds bleeding, but I would imagine they are also fairly cheap.
