So we can only get broadband through a satellite - we are going with onwave and have opted for the first package : Download speed 22mb, upload speed 6mb, with 10 GB of data a month. It doesn't come with a wireless router so need to purchase this ourselves.

Can anyone recommend one for use in a 2 story house with concrete floors on first floor? Someone mentioned booster plugs to us, what are these and how do they work?

    Thanks in advance

You will need two solutions, you will not get Wi-Fi through hollow core. You'll need a wireless access point to distribute Wi-Fi from the satellite

    TP-LINK TL-WA801ND 300Mbps Wireless N Access Point https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004UBU8IE/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_ADiuwbG0SEXCT

Then you'll need homeplugs with Wi-Fi to extend this. These work by creating a link through your electrical cabling.

    TP-LINK TL-WPA4220KIT AV500 Powerline 300M Wi-Fi Extender/Wi-Fi Booster/Hotspot with Two Ethernet Ports, Starter Kit/Twin Pack (Easy Configuration, Wi-Fi Clone for Smartphone/Tablets/Laptop) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DHB2T44/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_7Biuwb8Z14RSQ

Thanks Mass Debater, They have told us that they will be putting something in the house that we can plug our computer into to gain access to net, and that if we had a wireless router we would just plug that into it. so would we just need to get the 2nd item you posted?

No, you need both if you want coverage upstairs and down as you will not get a signal through hollow core. The first creates a wireless network, plug it into the switch they give you. The second extends this wireless network
