Jerky buses (or is it the drivers?)

I stopped getting on Dublin Buses a long time ago - because the constant breaking and acceleration makes me throw up! I think there's something wrong with the design itself - either they have crappy suspension, or they are designed wrong for such a tall structure! Someone might come back and say this is exactly the design used elsewhere too - yes, probably, by the ride quality is very poor here, and if there's any other reasons to this like road/traffic/driver etc, the design is not suitable to the situation in this country!

Alex do you mean Beaufort Rd ?

It is Beaumont Avenue linking Nutgrove Avenue (at the Bottle Tower pub) to Barton Road East that Alek refers to on the 14, 14A and 161 routes.

And as a Ballinteer resident I can testify to the ramps' severity!

In the UK one solution used is an air filled speed bump. It's got a valve that is triggered when more than a certain weight is on the ramp, and it deflates / collapses very fast. So a fire engine / ambulance can take at speed but a car gets bounced.

Sit somewhere where you have a good view outside the bus. Preferably mid-way between the axels.
