Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Last week I took the ferry from Rosslare to Pembroke and managed to get some photos of Manx Shearwaters and Gannets from the ferry (which I've posted on my blog - if you want to see the photos click here).

I have a photo of one gull I can't id - wondered if its as simple as a juv Greater Black backed gull - but I'm not sure.
    Anyone any idea?
Photo too large to post - so attaching the link

    Thanks :)

Fulmar, not actually a gull species at all.

Agreed. The 'flying milk bottle' as some call it for its chunky body.

More closely related to petrels and shearwaters - the 'tube-noses' - than to gulls as Feargal says.
