No need to fill it first. Remove old one and fit new.

    1. Find fuse for fuel pump. Remove.
    2. Run engine until it dies.
    3. Disconnect battery.
    4. Jack car up, remove filter.
    5. Replace with new filter, no need for petrol in it. Make sure it's pointed correctly.
    6. Replace battery terminals and pump fuse. Start car.
    7. It will take a little longer to crank the car this time.
    8. Check for leaks while car is running.
    9. Set car down, done.
